Solution presentation

Fidotrack is an online Smart Animal Patient Care platform exclusively for veterinary clinics. The platform works as a Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) powered by artificial intelligence. It is based on data collected by sensors that monitor the animal's vital functions and its immediate environment. Fidotrack provides veterinarians with evidence-based recommendations for more accurate diagnoses and continuous monitoring of the patient's condition. This raises standards of care and reduces uncertainty in treatment. The ultimate goal is to improve treatment outcomes, reduce risks and increase clinic efficiency.

The project is developed in close cooperation with specialists from the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, ensuring that the technology follows the strictest medical standards for post-operative care.

Challenge

The central challenge of the project was to create a comprehensive and reliable platform that would enable veterinarians to make faster, more dependable diagnoses while also ensuring continuous smart patient care even outside the clinic. Key problems needed to be solved on multiple levels. It was necessary to develop a robust Artificial Intelligence model that accurately analyzes clinical data and provides clinically credible recommendations. Furthermore, it was essential to design a system that allows for remote monitoring and adjustment of treatment based on the collected sensor data.

Process of implementation

The development process is agile and focuses on clinical validation, where close cooperation with leading veterinary organizations in Slovenia is key.

Strategy and Research

In this phase, the key focus was the definition of clinical problems in collaboration with leading veterinary organizations in Slovenia, thus ensuring the clinical utility of the project. We determined which diagnostic areas are most important for Artificial Intelligence support. A data collection plan was also created, including the definition of sensor types and environmental data.

UX/UI Design and Platform Development

The main focus was on designing a web platform for veterinarians with minimal visual noise and clear alerting. Information accessibility was a priority for the User Experience (UX): key alerts must be immediately accessible, as a veterinarian's (and patient's) time is extremely valuable. Simultaneously, the development of algorithms for sensor data processing and real-time recommendations is underway.

Validation and Iterative Improvement

A critical part of the process is the planning and execution of tests. Based on feedback and achieved clinical outcomes, the interface and algorithms are gradually improved. This phase also includes the validation of the performance and reliability of the sensors used to monitor the animals and their environment.

Other Activities

Activities are focused on completing the development and preparing for market entry among veterinary clinics. A marketing strategy is being developed which will highlight measurable benefits for the clinic, such as improved diagnostics and increased customer satisfaction. At the same time, an educational programme for clinic staff and technical solutions for the subsequent integration of Fidotrack with existing clinic systems are being developed.
